farewell…adieu….goodbye
After several years of the weekend morning boardwork for THE CRIB, the time has come to close this chapter of my life and move on.
I feel it is quite fitting that the final edition of the program is being aired on the day before the Chinese New Year. Quite appropriate too that this change falls on the month of JANUARY ( a month named after the Roman God Janus -the Roman God of Gates and Doors, the Beginnings and Endings. It was said that he had a double-faced head, one gazing back at the year that had passed by, and the other facing the year that lies ahead).
January is also said to be a transition between the old and new, past and future, what has happened and what will. Let me share with you a few highlights of the show: annual outreach projects we held every October and December since 2005, and being nominated as one of the finalists in the 15th KBP Golden Dove Awards in the Best Field Reporter Category for Radio.
So before we move on to a new beginning, I would like to look back and thank everyone who made THE CRIB a weekend morning habit- to all the listeners and supporters of the show, for making waking up early every weekend something I look forward to doing; for asking me to extend - it only shows how much you love the show, for sending in messages, posting testimonials and comments - those words make everything worth it.
To the volunteers and friends who made our annual outreach projects successful - we won’t stop touching lives…the projects will continue…and I’ll be seeing you in our future projects. Those whose lives we have yet to touch, I am hoping that the new show and new segments will be able to make the listeners feel much more welcome and at home with the show and that you will get involved with the things I have lined up for everyone.
The past was good, today was better and I know that what lies in the future will be the best because we will all make it possible. So let us embrace this change and move on to a brand new day…the sun will never cease to smile and shine on us…look forward to brighter things ahead… Om shanti and Namaste.
